Mudanjiang Technician College Website

Mudanjiang Technician College is a national high-skilled talent training base, a model technician college of Heilongjiang Province and a national demonstration school for vocational education reform and development. Its website carries three jobs at once: enrolment promotion, news publishing and school-affairs disclosure.

The brief: the previous site buried key information several levels deep and read poorly on phones, while academic departments had no way to publish on their own. The college wanted a site that reflects its positioning — industry-led, open, and service-oriented — and that its own staff can maintain section by section.

What we built: a flattened information architecture, with nine top-level sections — About, News, Party Building, Teaching, Vocational Training, Basic Education, Student Affairs and Department News — all within three clicks of the homepage. The homepage is organised into nine content blocks covering campus news, notices, teaching updates, department news, ideological education, admissions and employment, party building, student growth and vocational training, with admissions and notice entries always visible on the first screen. Layouts adapt to desktop, tablet and mobile using shared templates for lists, articles, galleries and video, and the backend assigns publishing rights per section with rich-text editing, attachment downloads and scheduled publishing.

Result: departments now publish independently, admissions material and notices sit in one place during the enrolment season, and the mobile experience matches desktop. Later campaigns — campus galleries, skills competitions and Sino-Russian college exchanges — were all launched by the college's own staff.
